A dinner table worth lingering at

Grill Glen starts with a dinner table that makes you want to stay a while. Life moves quickly, and arranging a meal with friends is often harder than it should be. We wanted a neighbourhood grill where you need no grand reason and no dress code: order a main with a good char on it, add a few dishes everyone can reach for, and an ordinary evening turns into a good one. The glen in the name is about the feeling of being wrapped in warmth, not about a real estate or an old legend.

The menu follows the heat and the balance. Herb-roast chicken, slow-cooked brisket, ribs and vegetables all share the table. Rich meat needs a sharp slaw beside it, and the cauliflower steak deserves full seasoning and a proper place on the plate, not a supporting role. Dish names are not mysterious, and portions and sides are spelled out, so a first visit is as easy as a fifth.

Grill Glen is not a test of who knows the most about barbecue. It is a warm, honest dinner. Some people want smoky sweetness, some want lemon and herbs, and some simply want a carefully made plate after work. Bringing different tastes to the same table, and sending everyone home happy — that is the fire worth keeping.
